Picking up from where it left off, the second season kicks off with Covert Intelligence Michael Westen back in pursuit of the person who burned him, blacklisting him from the intelligence community and even compromising his identity. While he chases after his adversary, he has no other choice but to also double as a Miami private investigator in order to survive.
