FBI agent Olivia Dunham is in need of someone who could help her suffering partner from a rapidly spreading unexplained phenomenon of the threatening kind. Attempting to stop the spread, she looks for the institutionalized scientist Dr. Walter Bishop. Unfortunately, the scientist is in a mental institution and could only be visited by close family members. Determined to save her partner, Dunham goes all the way to Iraq to locate Dr. Bishop's son, Peter. Together, they try to stop all the strange occurrences following them.
